The basement had water ponding in it and the walls required substantial underpinning. Premier Basements underpinned the external walls, fitted a full membrane and drainage system. The rooms are now awaiting decoration. This has added a lot of additional space to the property. Any property can have a basement retro-fitted to it and this is proving a popular solution for many people

Vaulted cellars and basements make very interesting spaces and are very suitable for conversion projects using cavity drainage membrane systems. We see a lot of these vaulted spaces, especially around Bath and Bristol, which have often also been previously waterproofed using cementitious or other tanking products.

Cavity drainage membrane systems work on the principle of allowing water to penetrate the structure, but then control it under such circumstances in the air gap and divert it to a suitable drainage point. These systems offer the lowest risk long-term solutions for waterproofing structures underground.
