We are starting a basement project which is being filmed for Channel 4 television Called Double Your House for Half the Price

CHANNEL 4 COMMISSIONS NEW SARAH BEENY SERIES

Channel 4 has commissioned Double Your House for Half the Price, a brand new property series fronted by Sarah Beeny which will show viewers how to make the most of the property they already own – at a fraction of the cost of buying the house of their dreams.

It’s tougher than ever for property owners to move up the housing ladder, and more and more people end up stuck in properties they have outgrown.

This series, made by Red House TV, sees property expert Sarah Beeny on a mission to help people work with what they’ve already got by extending every which way, using and adding onto the space they already have, while re-configuring their interior space. Along the way, they will also be creating as much equity in their homes as possible.

In each episode, Sarah will meet and advise one family bursting at the seams who cannot afford to move and decides to radically transform their existing home. Whether it’s building up, out, down or around, the challenge is to increase the size of their property by up to 100%, and so create their perfect home at a fraction of the cost.

Can Sarah’s expertise and no-nonsense advice really help families double their house for half the money?

Double Your House for Half the Price was commissioned by Channel 4 Features Commissioning Editor Katie Boyd. It is executive produced by John Silver and series produced by Kurt Seywald. The series director is Nic Guttridge. The 6×60 series will air on Channel 4 later this year.

Premier Basements are passionate about continuous training for staff members. March 2012 sees Premier Basements become approved installers for Safeguard after onsite training under the direction of their training director. The basement conversion in Chelsea and Fulham had extensive underpinning to the exterior walls to obtain headroom of 2.5 metres. This along with retro-fit basements where a basement is installed under a property, where one previously did not exist is becoming a popular option.

An exciting large retro-fit basement has started in Maidenhead Berkshire. The 5 month project is to construct a 12 metre by 8 metre basement beneath the current property creating a stunning large room for entertaining. The work involves excavating beneath the lounge, dining room and hallway and underpinning the perimeter walls and installing RSJ’s so one room can be achieved. French doors into a light well are being installed to give natural lighting.

A basement in Cardiff where the floor was lowered, the external walls were underpinned so the desired headroom could be achieved, has been completed and is currently being furnished. The basement has had a cavity drain membrane system fitted and the 2 large rooms has been converted for living space.

London Basement Under Pinning Completed

Under pinning in London basement in the borough of Chelsea and Fulham is now completed. The partial retro-fit basement had a limited existing area that had low headroom. The entire footprint has now been excavated, the external walls under pinned, the drains re-routed and a reduced level excavation completed on the floor. The basement is now ready for the installation of a sump and pump and a membrane system.

Retro Fit Basement Conversion Stairs Handrails Completed in Hampshire

A bespoke set of oak stairs have been completed and the handrails fitted at a recently completed basement which was a part conversion of a existing basement and partially a retro fit construction under the dining area. The original basement has now been extended to a lounge, office area and shower room. One of the features is that DVDs can be stored out of site on shelves underneath the stair treads. The handrails in brushed nickel and oak look simply amazing.

2 large rooms under a Cardiff property have now been turned into dry usable space and is going to be used as storage and a games room.
